Principles of Beautiful Web Design

I’m so excited, I just recieved and devoured my new book, The Principles of Beautiful Web Design
It is FANTASTIC! It just talks about all the stuff I love, design, colour, css, texture, photoshop, layouts, content, standards, xhtml, everything.. Its not for beginners either, its for designers who already have experience, and are interested in semantic mark-up and beautiful layouts, so it was really nice to see that I’m already doing what the book recommends!
There are little snippets of what might happen in the future that I didnt know about, such as the possibility of rounded corners being supported by css 3, which would be so cool, and actually, I didnt know a whole lot about the evolution of css, but now I’m getting excited about the possibilities!
All of my favourites web sites are featured, just the drool-worthy layouts from cssbeauty, and cssremix, veerle’s blog and the like, and they break down the sites to explain exactly whats going on in the background…
Anyway, Im going to read this thing again tonight, it was great!

Thanks for the tip, I’ll definitely take a look. I’ve got Andy Clarke’s book called Transcending CSS beside me at the moment. It’s beautifully presented and easy to read. It has lots of great examples using current web technologies but it also gives a real taste for where CSS is going in the future. definitely worth a look.

Hi Dave!
Would you believe I bought the book you have too!
I love the paper its printed on, feels lovely, they spared no expense anyway!
For some reason though, the Transcending CSS book feels more like homework to me :) Where the design book was like reading a girly mag, just pure entertainment y’know! I must have a proper read, but I did like the pieces about where css is going, it’s probably more educational than the principles of..
